  • 1 pound ground beef sausage
  • 4 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cans (7.5 ounces each) refrigerator biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13×9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium pot, brown the ground beef sausage over medium heat. Transfer to the baking dish and blot excess grease with paper towels.
  3. In the same pot, melt butter in the drippings. Stir in flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until combined; cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth; cook on medium-low heat until thickened. Pour over the sausage in the baking dish.
  5. Cut biscuit dough into quarters and distribute evenly on top of the gravy.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
