  • 2 tbsp melted butter or vegan butter (for icing)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (for icing)
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, spices, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add molasses and milk; stir until just combined.
  5. Form the dough into a circle on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
