  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter as you go.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the phyllo base.
  4. Top with the remaining phyllo sheet and brush with butter; lightly score the top for easier slicing.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and set. Allow cooling for about 10 minutes before serving.
  6. Drizzle with warmed honey and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top.
