  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 12 tbsp milk (as needed for consistency)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup; mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine with the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Shape chilled dough into balls and place on prepared sheets.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
