  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (use a non-alcoholic alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil (enough for 4 packets)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken), 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Tear off 4 large pieces of heavy-duty aluminum foil, about 12 inches each. Lightly coat the center of each piece with olive oil.
  3. Place one patty in the center of each foil piece. Top each with sliced mushrooms and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Fold the foil over the patties and seal tightly to trap moisture.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C). Cook for 15-20 minutes on the grill or 20-25 minutes in the oven.
  6. Check doneness by ensuring burgers reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C). Serve immediately.
