  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, whisked
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (170°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  2. Melt unsalted butter and dark chocolate together in a double boiler or microwave until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and whisked eggs until well mixed. Stir in the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet mix, folding gently until no dry ingredients remain.
  5. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, one egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger powder, ground cloves, and cornstarch until blended.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Layer all of the pumpkin mixture on top followed by the remaining brownie batter.
  7. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Allow to cool before slicing.
