  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups broth
  • 1 can coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Season beef with salt and pepper. Sear in a heavy-bottomed pot with oil until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, sauté chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger until translucent.
  3. Add spices (curry powder, garam masala, cumin, paprika, cayenne) and cook for another minute.
  4. Return beef to the pot, add broth to cover meat, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 6-8 hours in a slow cooker or 2-3 hours on low stovetop until tender.
  5. Stir in coconut milk; simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Prepare garlic naan by mixing flour, yeast, water, yogurt, and minced garlic into dough; let rise before cooking on a skillet.
