  • 330 g self-raising flour
  • 360 g granulated sugar
  • 360 g butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g salted butter (for buttercream)
  • 800 g powdered sugar
  • 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional- if the buttercream is too stiff)
  • Electric green food coloring (a few drops)
  • 250 g orange fondant
  • 200 g black fondant
  • 1 tbsp CMC powder
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease your baking pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat butter until creamy; add eggs one at a time along with vanilla and milk.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture until just mixed.
  5. Bake for about 50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. For buttercream, beat salted butter until smooth; mix in powdered sugar and add vanilla and milk as needed. Color with green food coloring.
  7. Crumble cooled cake into jars, layering with buttercream until filled.
  8. Decorate with additional buttercream swirls, sprinkles, and fondant accents.
